Flink Forward 2016 will take place at KulturBrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. The former brewery with its distinctive architecture from the end of the 19th century offers 25.000 sqm, 6 courtyards and more than 20 buildings. It has been protected as a monument since 1974 and is one of the few well-preserved examples of industrial architecture in Berlin dating from the end of the 19th Century.
The Prenzlauer Berg district is a center of cultural life. Countless bars, restaurants, cafés, galleries and shopping create a unique day and nightlife atmosphere.

GETTING THERE AND AROUND

Berlin’s public transit system will take you almost anywhere you want to go, taxis are easy to find and bike rentals make it possible to tour the city as you please.

AIRPORTS

Berlin has two airports: Berlin Schönefeld and Berlin Tegel. Both of them are easy to reach.

  • From Berlin Schönefeld to the venue you take the S9 to Bernau, transfer at S+U Schönhauser Allee to the U2 to U Theodor-Heuss-Platz and get out at U Eberswalder Str. From there, KulturBrauerei is a short walk.
  • From Berlin Tegel to the venue you take TXL bus to Alexander Platz, transfer at S Beusselstr. to the S41, transfer at S+U Schönhauser Allee to the U2 to U Theodor-Heuss-Platz and get out at U Eberswalder Str. From there it’s a short walk to the venue.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The closest U-Bahn station to Kulturbrauerei is “Eberswalder Straße” in the U2 line. The closest tram station is also “Eberswalder Straße” serving lines M12, M1 or M10.

TAXI

You can call a taxi for a normal ride to the entry Sredzkistraße. If you just want to take a taxi for a short trip of 2km you can hail one off the street and tell the driver you would like a “short ride” or “Kurzstrecke” You can call a taxi via the Uber or MyTaxi apps available for iOS or Android.

There is a fee-charging parking garage at the entry Sredzkistraße

VISAS

EU NATIONALS

EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

NON-EU NATIONALS

Generally speaking, all other foreign nationals require a visa for stays in Germany. A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in an 180 day period for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement.
